The Problem
What we walked into.
- The site ran on a page-builder theme shipping over 2MB of unused JavaScript on every page, with a hero image that alone weighed 1.4MB.
- Completed projects existed only as PDF case sheets, so nothing describing the fit-out work itself was crawlable or shareable as a link.
- There was no analytics or Search Console property, so no baseline existed for anything.
The Approach
What was actually shipped.
Rebuild on a stack that can be measured
Next.js with server components and statically generated project pages, an image pipeline with explicit dimensions and AVIF output, and a performance budget agreed before design started.
Turn the project PDFs into pages
Each completed fit-out became a real, indexable project page with scope, sector and imagery, plus Organization and Service schema.
Instrument from day one
GA4, Search Console and server-side conversion tracking configured at launch so the next twelve months would have a baseline to argue from.
The Outcome
What moved.
- Mobile LCP fell from 5.9s to 1.3s, moving every template into the passing Core Web Vitals band.
- Organic sessions grew 126% across the first two quarters, almost entirely on project and sector terms that had no indexable page before.
- Tracked enquiry submissions quadrupled — the form had previously been below the fold on a page most mobile users never waited for.
