TL;DR
Executive Summary.
A learning platform that holds up when a whole class logs in
An education platform whose enrolment flow fell over at exactly the moment it mattered most — the first hour of a new batch opening.

- +58%Completed enrolmentsSame traffic volume
- -38%Cost per enrolmentPaid campaigns
The Problem
What we walked into.
- The enrolment flow ran seven sequential API calls before showing a confirmation, timing out whenever concurrent signups spiked.
- Course content pages were client-rendered, so none of the syllabus content was indexable.
- Ad conversions were counted on a thank-you page view, meaning refreshes and returning users were being reported as new enrolments.
The Approach
What was actually shipped.
Rebuild the enrolment path
The flow was reduced to a single server action with optimistic UI and idempotent retries, so a slow payment callback no longer loses a student.
Make the syllabus indexable
Course and module pages moved to statically generated server components with Course schema, opening a stream of long-tail organic enrolments.
Fix the numbers before scaling spend
Conversion tracking was rebuilt server-side against confirmed enrolments, then campaigns were restructured by intent with the keywords that never converted removed.
The Outcome
What moved.
- Median page load fell to 0.9s and the platform held through three consecutive batch openings without a timeout.
- Completed enrolments rose 58% on the same traffic — the gain came from students who had previously dropped mid-flow.
- With honest tracking in place, cost per enrolment fell 38% on a slightly smaller ad budget.
